For some time i was searching how to backup TFS 2012. there was some power tools for it bit for me it has some issues.
Finlay Microsoft has release a update that can backup the TFS from TFS Administration console.
- Fist you have install TFS 2012 update 3 for this. have found a simple post how to install the TFS update. ( http://www.incyclesoftware.com/2013/04/team-foundation-server-2012-update-2-step-by-step/)
- After you install the Update 3 log in to TFS Administration Console. and you will see there is a sub menu schedule backup.
- Click the Create Schedule Backups. and in the next window specify the a shared folder to store the backups and set the backup retention days.
- In the next window select wither you want to backup reporting database.and the data bases.
- In the reporting server Encryption key window specify a key for it. in my case i have given Encryption key before.
- In Next window Select the SharePoint database server and the databases to backup.
- Select the backup need schedule you want in the next window.
- Review the settings in the next window and click next.
- Click Configure to start he configuration start.
- Now you have successfully configured backup for TFS 2012.
